Inlet Valve Malfunction: If the inlet valve of a pneumatic diaphragm pump malfunctions, the pump will make noise but not draw water. Check if the inlet valve is closed or blocked. If so, clean or replace the valve.
Incomplete Air Venting: If air is not purged from the pipeline before starting the pneumatic diaphragm pump, it will also make noise but not draw water. To remove air, open the vent valve on the pump body before starting until air comes out of the vent. This ensures the pump is air-free and can draw water normally.
Pipeline Leaks: Air leaks in the pipeline can also cause the pump to make noise but not draw water. Therefore, regularly check the pipeline connections for tightness. Address any leaks promptly.
Other Causes: Besides the above, other difficult-to-diagnose causes such as pump chamber blockage, insufficient pump body cross-sectional area, or diaphragm damage may also result in the pneumatic diaphragm pump making noise but not drawing water. In these cases, contact a professional repair technician immediately.
